We provided corporate sponsorship at the Inaugural "Angels of Hope" charity golf classic. Cedarhill Golf Club in Ottawa, Friday June 20.
Two years ago, Wade Redden's mother and Dr. Mark deGruchy's wife both were diagnosed with a brain tumour. Despite medical treatment, these women succumbed to the disease within a year.
The Angels of Hope charity was started by these men to raise funds for the research to work to finding a cure for this disease. The tournament goal for the day was $25 000 but via corporate sponsorship and personal donation, the charity raised over $1million dollars.
Paul Henderson & the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine conference
OOLab sponsored guest speaker, Paul Henderson to attend the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine conference. Paul is a retired Canadian hockey left winger who played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs and Atlanta Flames.
He is best known for scoring the winning goal against the Soviet Union at 19:26 of the third period in game eight of the 1972 Summit Series on September 28, 1972.
